NRAA National Grading System trial period now in place

The NRAA National Grading System is in use and in the Trial Stage at the moment. The New Draft Grading Rules are available for download at

Here is an overview from Bob Pedersen - NRAA Rules Director:

The NRAA Online Prize Meeting Program (available free to everyone) is totally linked to the National Grading System. The system has been in use for approx. 18 months. As well as providing a system which runs Prize Meetings and produces and publishes results, it feeds those results into the National Grading System. This is the only way scores can be submitted for Grading, and you should encourage Competition Organisers to use it for their Prize Meetings.

Let’s suppose you compete at a local Prize Meeting. They are using the OPMP. Your details and present Grade are presented to the Organisers as they enter you for the day. The top score for the day was 149.17. (Centre Bulls don’t really matter in the system). Your score is 147.12. At the end of the day, these scores are automatically submitted to the National Grading System. Your score is compared to the Top Score of the day and your Grading % is calculated. 147 / 149 x 100 = 98.65%. This is added to your details in the system. The Average of your last 8 Grading Percentages is calculated to give your Grading Average.

Your Grading Scores will only appear if you have competed in an Open Prize Meet or Queens and the Organisers have used the OPMP to calculate and submit the results. The New Grading Rules also contain Rules for calculating Grades if you only shoot in Club Competitions.

Your Grades are now available on the NRAA Web Site. To Access your Grading Details click on "Shooter ID" & choose "NRAA Shooter List".

In the Search Field Type in your Surname or better still your SID Number. When the next list comes up click on your name. The window will enlarge, and if your have Grading Results, you will see an "Average Score%", Number of Shoots and Grade.

Click on your Average Score % number and another window opens. This window will show you details of the Competitions you have entered, the Top Score, and your Grading % for that shoot. The maximum number of scores will be 8. It may be less if you have not shot enough scores.

The average of the Percentages show will be your Grading average. It will change each time another Competition is completed. See the Draft Grading Rules for the Cut-Off points for each of the Grades and Disciplines.
